Before FBorFW:

In 1972, while Lynn was expecting her first child, her obstetrician asked her to draw comics to decorate the ceiling of his office to entertain the expectant mothers. Lynn's drawings were published in her first book, David, We're Pregnant! in 1973. It became a bestseller, and she followed it up with Hi Mom! Hi Dad! and Do They Ever Grow Up? These books got the attention of Universal Press Syndicate, who offered Lynn the contract to do For Better or For Worse®.

These books are now out of print and hard to find—check your local used bookstore if you'd like a copy!
